The Uyghur Revolt

Thanks to the China great wall the whole world does not have an idea about what currently is happening in Xinjiang except that over 156 were killed in the past two days "according to the latest numbers coming from China officially" and thousands were injured and arrested in the protests of Uyghurs.
It is much more worse than Iran and what is happening there is even more dangerous than Iran because we are speaking about a political regime that is more suppressive and violent than the Iranian regime.
I was trying to follow the news coming from China but the video and photos coming from there are too few comparing with Iran , the other videos I found were either in Chinese or pro-Chinese with ugly comments
Yet here are some videos I found Yesterday and today

The Uyghurs are Muslim minority in China, they are considered one of the biggest ethnic groups in China.
Already Xinjiang is a very rich area in Oil besides other other resources. It seems that there is a lot tension between the Han Chinese and Uyghur Chinese , already the Uyghurs want to have their own independence. The current uprising revealed an ugly face of Islamophobia with my respect in China , I am reading ugly racist comments in youtube that made me so sick.
Here are some photos I found from AP and Reuters:
Here is even much worse photos I found in the China Review
The Chinese official media is loading the minds and hearts of the Han Chinese against the Uyghurs

  1. What has happened to the Uighurs is truly despicable but to identify the Chinese regime as Islamophobic gives a wrong impression. They oppose all religions and/or organizations that pose a threat to their control. Their religion is communism.

It appears that you are giving the current tyrannical Islamic theocracy in Iran more latitude. They are no different than the Chinese. The brutality of the Iranian regime's crackdown on it's own citizens who are also Muslims should not be minimized. Any unelected group of individuals who claim to rule by Gods law as interpreted by them cannot be trusted to nourish freedom. Caliphs, Emperors,Popes and Kings have all tried to rule in such a manner but they for the most part over the centuries have had their powers reduced by the the desire of man for freedom.
During the past few centuries many democracies have been born and they have flourished. Their citizens lead better lives but they must always be on guard for tyrants and the lust for power. Too many humans still live under the yoke of tyranny. Hopefully democracy will continue to expand in the world but those who crave freedom must be careful not to trade one tyranny for another as did the Iranians.

  2. Nice post but just one thing, the question back in China is it not religious, it is political, is a massacre against a minoriti, just like the Tibetans and not something against islam or the islamic ppl. It is not the real target, the religion. The target is any nationalist movement within China.

  3. @Misrcribe , I am afraid the comments that I found in Youtube from the Chinese showed Islamphobia not to mention the Chinese gov't played the game of war on terrorism to hunt down the Uighur opposition
Regarding Iran , my dear sir you will be shocked but Egypt does not have a real multi-candidate elections like Iran regardless of what happened in the last elections , in fact the Iranians are speaking now about the fact they are turning in to another Egypt
I know you won't like this and we will have a long debate but it is a fact
Moussavi had the freedom to have rallies during the campaigns , in Egypt Presidential candidates expect Mubarak of course can have conference and public meetings in their parties HQ only !!!!
I will not speak about the Supreme leader system because also in Iran now you will find a huge debate about it.

@Raphael, I understand this but I am afraid among the things the Chinese gov't is trying to spread Islamphobia and racial differences despite the fact that now they realized that all these techniques are hurting their image in our part of the world
